Nancy Lundberg Vigeant
Nancy is a lifelong resident of Thomaston, CT. She is the great granddaughter of Swedish immigrants that settled in Thomaston in the late 1800’s. Nancy works in Information Technology at Anthem BCBS in Wallingford CT. For many years, she focused on her career and raising her family. With her children grown, she found she had time to pursue other interests. In 2014, she decided to pick up a paint brush and that is when her artistic journey began. She is a self-taught artist, and all of her artwork is done in oils on canvas. Painting has become her passion, and she has a project in progress at all times. Her dream is to finish her career at Anthem, and retire as a local artist with small hobby business selling paintings and prints.
Nancy prefers to select themes, and then do a collection of four paintings in that theme. Her completed collections include, Thomaston CT (landmarks), Litchfield, CT (landmarks), Maine (southern coast landmarks), Country Florals, and a Swedish Collection. The Swedish Collection has four window scenes, one for each season. The composition of the window scenes includes a mixture of new England pottery, florals, and at least one object that is from her Swedish heritage. (Dala Horse, Dala Roosters, Tomte & Julbock, and a Mortar & Pestle). A collection that is still a work in progress is a Swedish Heritage collection based on family photos; Flag Day 1916, and 1927 Picnic on The Farm. She has plans to paint a scene of the family Winter Ice Harvest in the 1920’s, and then will continue to search the family photos from that time period to select the final painting for this collection. Another collection in progress is a farm animal collection, with two completed paintings; Rooster & Asters and Hen & Chicks, they will be added to this site at a future date.
She is a member of the Ten-2-One Artists, and the Fine Arts Connection of Thomaston. She has participated in the Litchfield Gallery on the Green, the Fine Arts Connection Friends of the Opera House Wine & Beer Tasting annual fundraiser, and several other local arts & crafts shows in the Thomaston area. Her artwork is available in matted prints (8x10"), stretched canvas prints (16x20"), or as note cards. Some originals are available for sale, please contact her directly for more information. Print and contact information is available at her website:
