Ann Walsh
I am married, have two sons and live in Wolcott, Ct. As a little girl I loved to draw, but never had the opportunity for art classes. As an adult, my time was spent raising my family, but whenever I could, I would spend time drawing.
It wasn't until my husband and I retired and began spending winters in Jupiter, FL that I began taking painting classes at The Lighthouse for the Arts in Tequesta, FL. I took many classes by different artists learning techniques from each of them. I also took lessons from Ray White of Plymouth, Ct. I continued to hone my skills with Ray and was very inspired by him and his studio.
My husband and I have been fortunate to travel much of the world. I have been influenced not only by paintings of the great masters, but also by the beautiful places I have visited. I am often moved by the sea and nature. I am inspired by my favorite artist, Claude Monet, as well as his gardens in Giverny.
In addition to working mainly with acrylics, I have also done some watercolor and pastels. I enjoy painting landscapes, seascapes and portraits and enjoy painting figures of people. Two years ago I joined the Ten-2-One Artists group in Thomaston, CT. My fellow artists are a very talented group. I find a lot of my inspiration from being with them.
