Deborah Apostolico

I was born in Providence, RI before moving to Connecticut at an early age. As I grew, I spent a great deal of my life in and around the ocean side of southeastern MA and developed a deep affinity for the sea and all it's beauty and mystery. The Connecticut hillsides held their own treasure of color and natural formations from which I drew inspiration for my paintings.

I attended Salve Regina University in Newport, RI, majoring in Art and Education. Teaching, as well as raising my family with my husband kept me quite busy until my retirement from work. The last couple of years I have been fortunate enough to be able to indulge my love of painting at the Crescent Gallery. There I met fellow artists, a lively, creative and talented group of friends in Thomaston, CT.

My art work is primarily drawn from objects found in nature. These items, whether animal, plant or mineral are reinterpreted as the creative process allows my mind to combine elements as the painting evolves in the process.

My work has been displayed in Newport, RI; Mystic Aquarium, CT; Miami and Coconut Grove, FL; as well as other venues.

I hope you enjoy my work!
